FedEx: CIIE will help expand international trade scale and exchanges
During the "Double 11" e-commerce shopping festival, China's postal express industry ushered in its peak business season. According to data released by the State Post Bureau, from November 1 to November 4, the entire network collected a total of 2.027 billion items, a year-on-year increase of 16.1% and a month-on-month increase of 31.0%, setting a new record high, reflecting the high recovery of China's consumer market.

In this regard, Chen Jialiang, President of FedEx China, said in an interview with a China.com reporter at the 6th CIIE that e-commerce has become a new growth point for global trade. E-commerce has also become a new driving force for China’s trade development. In the first three quarters of 2023, China's e-commerce import and export volume reached 1.7 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.4%, and economic and trade development continues to improve. "We continue to innovate to improve freight efficiency and help Chinese companies compete overseas." In addition, FedEx will work hard to ensure the stability of the import supply chain to connect the global logistics network, help build a reliable supply chain, and support the high-quality development of the Chinese economy. "China's development will also inject strong impetus into global economic growth." Chen Jialiang said.
This CIIE is the first time it has been fully resumed offline after the COVID-19 epidemic. It further releases the "spillover effect" of China's high-level opening up and high-quality development, and is of great significance to promoting global economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.
This is the third time FedEx has participated in the CIIE this year. It uses video displays and interactive devices to provide visitors with an immersive experience, introducing the results of FedEx's 40 years of rooting in the Chinese market and promoting China's trade development. "The CIIE is like 'a waybill sent to the world', playing an important role in expanding the scale and exchanges of international trade. This time FedEx came to Shanghai to fulfill the CIIE agreement again. Here, we review our process of 'deep cultivation' in the Chinese market and fully supporting the development of China's international trade over the past 40 years," said Chen Jialiang.
As an "old friend" of the CIIE, Chen Jialiang said: "The CIIE has built a platform for international companies like us to share development opportunities and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, demonstrating the attractiveness of China's huge market. FedEx will use this international stage to seek more development opportunities at home and abroad, and give full play to its professional advantages in international logistics, smoothly connect China and the international market, and cultivate new momentum for China's trade development."
